Susan earned her B.A. in German Studies and Philosophy from Yale University in 2011. Her bachelor’s theses addressed the issues of language and knowledge in Nietzsche, Kant’s Analytic of the Sublime, and Freud’s notion of the uncanny. After graduating, she studied at the Humboldt University in Berlin on a DAAD Scholarship before joining Yale’s Department of Germanic Languages and Literatures in 2013. Her interests center on the relationship between literature and philosophy, literary theory, and aesthetics.
