Bio

Andrea joined the German Studies department at Yale in 2023. She completed her undergrad in Psychology and German studies at the University of Portland and her Master’s degree in Spanish and German at Portland State University. Andrea focuses on contemporary German culture and political discourse, centering migrant voices in discussions of national identity and belonging. Her research interests include comparative diaspora studies, intersectional representations of migrants in literature and film, and challenging rhetoric that frames our understanding of migration, integration, and assimilation processes.
