Jasper Schagerl
Jasper Schagerl is a research associate at the University of Bremen. He received his Phd at the Humboldt-University Berlin. For his dissertation, „Narrating Circumstances. The prose of the case in Harsdörffer, Thomasius and Gayot de Pitaval,“ he was awarded the Scherer Prize. He is currently completing a study on Gottfried Wilhelm Leibniz and the science of singularities. From September 2025 to August 2026, he will be a Feodor Lynen postdoctoral fellow at the Department of Germanic Languages and Literatures, working on a project on the aesthetics and politics of common sense in German realism.
His areas of research are: Law and Literature, Rhetorical Knowledge, Administrative Forms of Writing, Political Aesthetics, Periodical Literature, German Realism
