Internships are a great opportunity to combine your study interests with learning about German culture and society in Germany. Some internships are paid, some are unpaid, some require a program fee, some pay a monthly stipend, for some programs, no German skills are required, for others they have to be excellent. Most deadlines are in November & December.

Internships in Germany
- Cultural Vista programs in Germany 2-3 months summer internships or 3-12 month internships throughout the year; paid & unpaid, Cultural Vistas program fee applies.
- Ruhr Fellowship language/culture class + internship in the Ruhr area: June/July. Flight stipend, free housing, NRW public transportation ticket. Fields: engineering, sciences, business
- Congress-Bundestag Youth Exchange for Young Professionals (CBYX) Full year: 2 months intensive language training + 1 semester study + 3-5months internship.
- Internationales Parlaments-Stipendium (IPS) after BA, MA; excellent German language skills (at least B2); March 1- July 31 the following year, monthly stipend
- Practical Research Experience Program at Technical University Munich (TUM PREP) Select research project with TUM faculty. July/August. No German required. At least 2 years of undergraduate study. List of projects/fields.
- DAAD RISE Germany (Research Internships in Science and Engineering) Summer internships. Fields: biology, chemistry, physics, earth sciences, engineering, or a closely related field. No German necessary, program conducted in English.
- FUBEST Internships 8 weeks May-July, unpaid.
- EMGIP-Bundestag Internship 2 months October-Dec [currently suspended due to lack of funds]
- DAAD University Summer Course Grants [currently suspended due to lack of funds but you can find a list of university courses]
For graduating seniors or recent graduates:
- American-Austrian Foundation Internships 3 months paid internships, Open Medical Institution, Schloss Arensberg, Salzburg. Provide admin support & data analysis. Room & board, monthly stipend of Euro 400 per month, and $1500 towards round-trip conomy airfare.” No deadline, application ongoing.
